Obituary for Carol Meaney Rogers (Meaney)

Carol Rogers, 77, of White Stone, Virginia died peacefully on Saturday, October 11, 2014 of natural causes. Born in Salem, Massachusetts on November 27, 1936, she was the daughter of the late John Francis and Evelyn Meaney. She attended Ste. Chretienne Academy and Boston University.

She was married January 28, 1961 to Arlan D. “Dick” Rogers in Marblehead, Mass. where they resided for 11 years raising their three children, Neil, Kristin and Wendy.

In 1972 the family moved to Denver, Colorado, where they lived for 27 years. During that time, Carol worked at the Denver Art Museum as a Director of Volunteers. In February of 1999 they moved to White Stone, Va. to be back on the east coast and to be near family.

Carol was preceded in death by her brother, Robert and sister, Lucille. She is survived by sisters, Jean Rennick, Patricia Bachorowski and Francine Morgan. She is also survived by her husband Dick; her son, Neil Rogers of Seattle, Wash.; her daughters, Kristin Neri of Richmond and Wendy and husband, Arch Wallace of Richmond and her four grandchildren, James and Olivia Neri and Lucy and David Wallace.

She was an elegant lady whose grace and kindness touched all near and dear to her.

A memorial service will be held 10:00 a. m. Saturday, October 18 at Grace Episcopal Church, Kilmarnock, Va. with a reception to follow at Indian Creek Yacht and Country Club.
