Obituary for Peter Kapitan

Peter  Kapitan
Peter Kapitan, 77, of Kilmarnock, Virginia died on October 19, 2014. He was a U. S. Air Force Veteran and a Parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Kilmarnock.

Surviving is his wife, Carol Kapitan; his daughters, Susan (Chuck) Stevens and Anastasia Kapitan; his son, Peter (Monica) Kapitan; three grandchildren, Jack Stevens, Annie Stevens and Nicole Kapitan; his mother, Anna Kapitan; sisters, Agnes (Dan) Halfman, Christine (Bill) Southard, Connie (Paul) Myres; brother, Andy Kapitan and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Peter Francis Kapitan and his sister, Lorraine Luketic.

Mr. Kapitan retired from the Internal Revenue Service with 40 years of service. Upon moving to Kilmarnock in 1993, he started a second career as a farmer.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Infant Jesus of Prague Council and the St. George Assembly and an auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary. He was also a member of the St. Joseph’s Secular Carmel of Port Tobacco.

A Mass of Resurrection will be said 2:00 p. m. Saturday, October 25 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Kilmarnock. Family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p. m. Friday, October 24 at Currie Funeral Home. A Rosary will be said at 6:45 p. m. and a Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p. m.
