Steven Odell "Dinky"  Shelton
Steven Odell “Dinky” Shelton, 85, of White Stone, Virginia passed away on February 17, 2015.

Dinky was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Bernice Walker Shelton; four sisters and four brothers. He is survived by two sons, Steve Shelton and his wife, Betsy, Ira Shelton and his wife, Louisa; his daughter, Christine S. Potter and her husband, Cliff; two brothers, John Thomas Shelton and Lewis V. Shelton and his wife, Mae; 6 grandchildren, Victoria Diehl and husband, Richie, April Shelton, Steven F. Shelton and wife, Whitney, Sarah Esterson and husband, Shawn, Eric Robbins and Jennifer Thomas and husband, Charles and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by sister-in-law, Marlene Deitrick of Richmond, Va. and brother-in-law, Wesley “ Dootsie” Walker, Sr. of White Stone, Va.

Dinky was a licensed Class A contractor, Veteran of the Korean War and a member of the White Stone Volunteer Fire Department. He was a great fan of baseball and softball and managed a woman’s softball team, “Dinky’s Darlings”.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Dinky was a very generous man who enjoyed helping others.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a. m. Monday, February 23, 2015 at White Stone United Methodist Church, White Stone, Va. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends 4 to 6 p. m. Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to White Stone United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 185, White Stone, VA 22578.
