Condolences

Condolence From: L
Condolence: Robert was one of the best principals ever to come to MHS and a needed change. His sense of humor, gentle demeanor, and respect for staff and students made the usual frustrations of teaching much easier.
We pray that the family's present grief will gradually fade in the memories of the happier years spend with Robert.
In deepest respect and sympathy, L

Condolence: To Mrs. Luttrell and family. May God comfort you during this sad time. My heart is sad, also. He was an Awesome principal and good mentor. My years at MHS were Wonderful in part because of him. On the night of graduation in 1991, I had to get picture with him. Now, that memory is going to be golden forever. Then, years later, he would give me my first teaching job. I'll be eternally grateful for that opportunity. I love you, Mr. Luttrell, and I will cherish your memory always.

Condolence: To Diane and family. I regret that I learned too late of Bobby's passing to personally express my sincere condolences. Bobby was a powerful leader in all phases of life. His affably quiet manner disguised the forceful and dynamic person that those who truly knew him recognized. I share your family's grief and wish you comfort in the knowledge that Bobby's life was meaningful to so many people and to the education of so many young boys and girls.

Condolence: I was so sad to hear this terrible news! I've know Bobby since I was a kid playing golf at Quinton Oaks. I was lucky to play many rounds of golf with him over the years and since returning to the area had him as one of my golf Members at King Carter Golf Club. I will miss you Bobby! May God bless your family during this difficult time!

Condolence: I've often shared the story of Mike and I from so long ago, getting in trouble, sitting in Mr. Luttrell's office, thinking we would be kicked out for an incredibly bad decision we'd made. We were called in to see him, he was firm, he was disappointed, and he let us know it. But, what followed was probably 30 minutes of him being the most down-to-earth man, sharing stories of his own mistakes, laughing with us, putting us at ease, and what showed through was that he respected us as much as we respected him. I've always appreciated what he did for us that day and how he treated all of the students of MHS; he definitely left a mark on many lives during his years there. I know he left a mark on mine. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing and my heart goes out to his family. Michelle - Middlesex High School Class of 1988

Condolence: I feel so lucky to have attended Middlesex High when Mr. Luttrel was principal. I always felt that even when he didn't do what I was asking for-the shorts debate of the 1980s in particular-he always listened. He had a smile that was genuine and a belly laugh that resonated. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. I hope his family knows how many young people admired him throughout his career.

Condolence: I am happy and sad to say that I had the pleasure of sitting in Mr. Luttrell's office with my boyfriend. We were in trouble for kissing in the hall. He smiled at us and said, "stop it." I laughed and my boyfriend cried. That's my favorite memory of many. xox All my love.

Condolence: Diane and family,
My deepest sympathy. I knew Bobby when he was in high school and then reconnected many years later through our educational careers. May your days ahead be filled with wonderful memories and of the love he had for all of you. May God's grace, mercy and love surround you now and in the days to come.

Condolence: Bobby will be missed. I first met him in 1980 and have valued our friendship and professional relationship since then. We enjoyed reflecting on those early years in Northumberland each time we met. My prayers are with Diane and I wish her strength and peace over the weeks and months ahead.
