Melvin L. Throckmorton, 83, of Reedville, Virginia passed away on November 9, 2016. He was the son of the late Carrington W. Throckmorton and Katie E. Throckmorton.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley G. Throckmorton; daughter, Lisa T. Lester (Glenn); granddaughter, Lacey M. Lester; sister, Shirley M. Lawhorne and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a. m. Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock. Interment will follow the service at Mila Community Cemetery, Heathsville. Family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p. m. Friday, November 11 at the funeral home.
