Obituary for Angella Jean D'Ambra
Angella J. “Jill” D’Ambra (Rowles), 84, of Kilmarnock VA, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2020.
She was born in Providence RI on May 11, 1936, daughter to the late Louis B. Rowles and Maria A. Rowles (D’Orsi). A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Jill is survived by her spouse , Joseph D’Ambra of Virginia, her sons Stephen Hammerschmidt and wife Denise, Eric Hammerschmidt and wife Michelle, David Hammerschmidt and wife Brenda all of Rhode Island and daughter Sharon Perry and husband Ron of Virginia, as well as six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was the sister of H. Thomas Rowles and the late Lewis B. Rowles of Rhode Island, their spouses and five nieces and nephews.
Jill was born, raised, and lived in Rhode Island until 2018 when she and her husband made the move to the Northern Neck of Virginia. Throughout the years Jill had worked for AAA, Citizens/Old Stone Bank and Decart/JFC International. Jill was a longtime Boston Red Sox fan, avid Yahtzee player, loved being on the water and was a fantastic cook.
Her funeral mass will be held on Friday September 25th at 10:00 am at Saint Timothys Church, Warwick Ave, Warwick RI. A private burial will follow.
