Anne D. Spangler, 81, of Weems Virginia passed away peacefully on February 18, 2023 after a 3 year battle with a rare blood cancer (Meylofibrosis). She was surrounded by family as she met her husband of 57 years, Joe Spangler, who she said was waiting for her around the corner.
Anne never met a stranger. She welcomed everyone into her life, and we all had fun! Born into a family of 11, Anne has always taken care of family, friends, and patients. She was an X-Ray technician at Rappahannock General Hospital in Kilmarnock, VA since it opened in 1977. She worked there for 35 years. She volunteered for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, and housed medical students that were completing their rotation at RGH.
She is survived by her son Charles (Catherine), Elley Kelly (Rick Kelly) and Sam (Celeste); Grandchildren, Emily (Giovanni Esposito), Noah, Ally, Hewson, Carter and Mallory, and her dachshund, Miss Fancy. She is also survived by her sisters & brothers, Arlene, Polly, Betsy, Peter, Jimmy, Mary Rose, Bob, Kassie, Patti, Tom.
Like our father, mom donated her body science, to continue helping others. A Celebration of Life will be held March 11, 1-4pm at TBD. In lieu of flowers, blood or monetary contributions may be made to the American Red Cross.
