Obituary for Carroll Kenneth "Kenny" Vanlandingham Jr.
Carroll Kenneth "Kenny" Vanlandingham, Jr., 81, of Reedville passed away May 8, 2022. He was born to the late Carroll Kenneth Vanlandingham, Sr. and Naoma R. Vanlandingham in Norfolk, Va. on September 17, 1940.
After being raised in Norfolk, Va. he served in the United States Marine Corps, lived in the Shenandoah Valley and Maryland briefly before moving to the Sunnybank area of Reedville, Va.
Kenny loved the water and worked as a waterman in the crabbing industry for many years. He then worked at Hale Marine and Wardico until his retirement.
Kenny was a faithful servant of the Lord. He attended Tibitha Church of God for many years. He loved his church family, being involved in church, and served as president of the men's group.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved dog, Stubby. He is survived by the love of his life, Sylvia, his wife of 55 years; beloved daughters Debbie Zelaya and Dawn Darrall(Wayne); six beloved grandsons, Carlos Zelaya, Alex Zelaya (Brittany) Chandler Zelaya, Nicholas Zelaya; Eric Darrall and Collin Darrall; a beautiful great granddaughter, Scarlett Grace Zelaya and many dear family members and lifelong neighbors and friends.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 p. m. Friday, May 13, 2022 at Tibitha Church of God. Interment will follow the service at Roseland Cemetery, Reedville. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
