Obituary for Elizabeth Anne Conner Miller
Miller, Elizabeth Anne Conner, passed away on May 31, 2021 at her home "The Morris House" in Reedville, Va., widow of Frederick D. Miller. She was born February 6, 1940 in Memphis, Tenn., the adopted daughter of William Oldham Conner and Francis Leaura Larson. She attended St. Albans School in DC and Smith College. Raised in a refined Southern setting in Memphis, she appreciated all grand traditions, and lived with an extraordinary flair for beauty, fashion, and style.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents and adopted brother, Robert Conner and her youngest son, Thomas George Repass of Weems, Va. who died March 10, 2021. She is survived by her son, Robert Conner Repass also of Weems and two granddaughters, Amber Repass of Lebanon, Ohio and Angelina Repass of Fredericksburg, Va.(daughter's of Thomas) and great grandson, Brian Hughes. Sincerest appreciation is given to John Sadler for his loving dedication to her life and well being.
She had a passion for collecting all things beautiful, interesting, and different. She always presented herself in wonderful wardrobes of color, inspiring many to follow her example. After moving to Reedville in 2000, she spent countless years decorating for area fundraising events in the Northern Neck, including the YMCA, Reedville Fishermen's Museum, and the Preakness for Rappahannock Community College. She created larger than life events that delighted everyone and loved entering her red BMW or elaborately decorated golf carts in parades. Her community and friends will forever remember the fabulous displays at her home for Easter, 4th of July, Halloween, and Christmas. Pictures of her home frequented many local publications and national magazines. A lover of flowers, she worked to establish period gardens for her Victorian home, often seen gardening equipped with pith helmet and boots.
She was known for her quick wit, her infectious smile and passion about politics, natural medicine, and her Christian beliefs. With a love for all animals, she enjoyed managing an animal clinic earlier in life, and recently focused on a wonderful group of feral cats raised at her home and she also greatly supported for cats, Garfield's Rescue, Inc., Lancaster, Va.
At Elizabeth's request, her funeral was private. Arrangements were made by Currie Funeral Home of Kilmarnock, Va. with interment at Corrottoman Cemetery, next to her late husband, Frederick Miller. Her service was officiated by Rhonda and Lee Harrison.
As she loved patriotic holidays, it is fitting that she died on Memorial Day. Any gifts in her memory may be made to Hospice of Virginia, 1328 Tappahannock Blvd., Tappahannock, VA 22560.
