Obituary for James Lewis Suttles
James L. Suttles, 84, of Heathsville, Virginia passed away January 21,2022. He was a retired U S Air Force Tech Sergeant with 21 years of service.
He was survived by his children, Daniel Suttles (Madeline), Diana Kress, Pamela Balderson and Mary Lewis; six grandchildren, Keith Suttles, Heather Newsome, Carol Byers, James Kress, Amy Radics and Margaret Sharp; 12 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia Suttles; two brothers and five sisters.
James was one of the founders of Mid- County Rescue Squad, he taught at Rappahannock Community College in Warsaw, he was a mechanic and a carpenter and a member of the Virginia Defense Force.
He was a loving father and grandfather and will be greatly missed. He was always helping others and he loved gardening, which he shared with many, and he enjoyed bowling and fishing .
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p. m. Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock. Interment will follow the service at Mooreland Cemetery, Sampson's Wharf Road, Heathsville. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
