Obituary for John Jeffress Cardwell
John Jeffress Cardwell, 89, of White Stone, Virginia passed away August 24, 2022, son of the late, Charles Patteson Cardwell and Katherine Jeffress Cardwell. He was a U. S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn A. Cardwell.
John was a graduate of St. Christopher School, Richmond and University of Virginia.
His working career included Regional Manager for Life of Virginia, Northern Neck Insurance Company and manager for American Standard Insurance Agency until his retirement.
John served on the Board of Directors for the Bank of Lancaster for many years and two terms for the Lancaster County Board of Supervisors. He was also a member of White Stone, Irvington, Kilmarnock Rotary Club and a member of Grace Episcopal Church.
John was an avid tennis player and enjoyed the game until he was 85 years old.
He was a gentle man with a kind soul and will be missed by all that knew him.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 a. m. Thursday, September 1, 2022 at Grace Episcopal Church Cemetery, Kilmarnock, Va.
