It is with great sadness that the family of Joseph Bradley Lane, Jr. announces his passing on Sunday, February 19, 2023. Bradley is lovingly remembered and survived by his wife Hailey Brook Lane and their daughter to be born in the spring, his mother Kerri Jo Lane, his father Joseph B. Lane Sr, his brothers Ronald W. Swarthout III and Robert Carter Stevens, his mother-in-law Jessica Jones, his brothers-in-law Allen Donovan and Alex Donovan, his sister and brother-in-law Erika and Jack Walser and their children Zachary, Zoë and Roland, his grandparents Connie L. and Larry “Dink” Huffman, and a large family of aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and friends. He was preceded in death by his special aunt “Grandma” Carol Sanner and his grandfather Joseph Patrick Lane. Bradley was born and raised in the Northern Neck by his adoring Mama who was always his biggest fan. Bradley and Hailey were married October 2, 2021 and were the truest of soulmates. He made his debut into our world on January 14, 1998 in Kilmarnock Virginia. His first home was on the banks of the Coan River and later spent most of his 25 years in Richmond County, where he attended and graduated from Richmond County Public Schools. As a youth he enjoyed little league baseball and football, hunting, fishing, music, and playing and laughing with his siblings and friends. He was a member of Troop/Pack 250 in Callao as both a Cub Scout and Boy Scout. Bradley played the trombone in the band at Richmond County Intermediate and was very musically talented. As a proud Rappahannock Raider he was a member of both the JV and Varsity Football teams and the JV and Varsity Soccer teams. He also spent some time in the Junior ROTC program at Rappahannock. Bradley attended the Northern Neck Technical Center, where he studied Auto Mechanics. Later in life, his passion became cooking and his dream was to be a Chef. He was employed as a Sous Chef at Relish Restaurant and Wine Bar in Warsaw and had recently also taken a second job at The Daily to support his growing family. He was very eagerly anticipating the birth of his baby daughter this coming May. Bradley‘s energy was vibrant and contagious. His smile lit up a room and his humor and kind heart were the gifts that he gave to the world. His celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 24 at 2:00 at Henderson United Methodist Church, 72 Henderson Drive, Callao, VA, with Pastor Han Yi officiating. A luncheon reception will follow. The family asks that if you wish, you can wear tie-dye clothing to the service to honor Bradley in his favorite fashion.
