Obituary for Lynn Marie McArdle
Lynn Marie McArdle, born on October 10, 1947, passed peacefully at home in Kilmarnock, Virginia on July 16th, 2022 at age 74 surrounded by her two children and grandson.
She was born in Stamford, Connecticut to William and Madelyn Klucik and lived in Norwalk, Connecticut until retiring to Kilmarnock in 2005.
Lynn was active in community activities which included the organization of the first Farmer’s Market and Wine Festival in Kilmarnock along with other events. Although not a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, she assisted and participated in a number of activities. She assisted in the organizing the first Flag Retirement Ceremony and accompanied her husband to various countries for the Coast Guard and the Coast Guard Auxiliary to provide instruction to other militaries and police forces.
Lynn was a world traveler and has visited more than 100 countries and all seven continents. Her favorite trip was to the Galapagos Islands. In addition to traveling, she loved cooking and hosting numerous holiday celebrations and parties that were beloved by her family and friends.
After working as an Administrative Assistant at GTE in Stamford, Connecticut, Lynn became a stay-at-home Mom for her two children and guided them to successful careers where Erin received a "Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Brendan is a Senior Vice President at Northern Trust Bank.
She is survived by her spouse of 52 years James Brian McArdle, two children; Erin Elizabeth McArdle and James Brendan McArdle and a grandson, James Brock Miles.
The family is planning a reception in the near future.
