Obituary for Nancy Sable Galloway

It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Nancy Snable Galloway. Nancy was born on March 3, 1934 in Basking Ridge, NJ. She passed on March 28, 2022 from complications of vascular dementia while under the care of the compassionate staff at Rappahannock Westminster Canterbury. The family will be eternally grateful to everyone at RWC for taking exceptional care of her.
Nancy graduated from Vassar College and pursued a career in education and music. She married her first husband, Ed Davis, who was taken tragically from her too early in their lives. She then re-married Richard Galloway several years later. After living in numerous foreign countries and across the United States, Nancy and Dick retired to the Northern Neck of Virginia where they embraced and enjoyed the community they called home for the past 35 years.
Nancy is survived by her three children, Pat Harris, Gary Galloway, and Sue Gray; as well as her 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. For those of you who knew Nancy, you understood her passion for life. We knew her as a lively spirit who enjoyed the game of golf, playing the violin, needlepointing, watching her hummingbirds, listening to classical music and reading.
On April 16, 2022 at 2:00pm, Nancy will be laid to rest at Christ Church in Weems, VA. In place of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Greater Richmond Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association in Nancy Galloway’s name.
