Obituary for Patroklos Sotiropoulos
On Sunday, March 13, 2022, Patroklos Sotiropoulos, 82, departed this life to the arms of our Lord. Patroklos was born in Greece in the town of Milina, Volos in 1940. He was the youngest of five children born to Dimitrios and Anastasia Sotiropoulos.
Patroklos immigrated to New York from Greece in the summer of 1967 after serving in the Greek Army and completing tours as a Merchant Marine in the Navy. He was a talented carpenter and contractor who started his own business after moving to Northern Virginia in 1973. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening in his free time. In his later years he enjoyed these hobbies where he settled in Southern Virginia.
He is survived by his daughter Katerina (Manoli), son Dimitri (Caroline), daughter Anastasia, three grandchildren as well as family in Greece.
A funeral service will be held at 11a.m. Saturday, April 2 at Saint Katherine Greek Orthodox Church, 3149 Glen Carlyn Road, Falls Church, VA 22041. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Saint Katherine Greek Orthodox Church in Falls Church, VA.
