Obituary

Thomas W. "Boilermaker" Cockrell, 79, of Heathsville, Virginia passed away on January 2, 2020. He grew up in Sampsons Wharf and Glebe Point and lived in the area all of his life.

He is survived by his children, Dale Cockrell, David Cockrell and Dawn Cockrell; grandchildren, Krissy, Jonathan, Talon, Blake, Hayley, Tyler, William, Bailey, Wyatt, Wesley and Joseph; and great grandchildren, Mason, Olivia, Brynn, Bryce, Sebastian, Julian, Jaxson and Juniper. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marguerite and Stanley Cockrell and brothers, Leon Cockrell and Bobby Cockrell.

Thomas "Boilermaker" was a founding member of Burlington Hunt Club and retired Boilermaker with Local 45 in Richmond. He loved fishing, hunting, his truck and his family. We will miss him deeply.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p. m. Sunday, January 5, 2020 at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock . Interment will take place after the service at Wicomico Baptist Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends 4-6 p. m. Saturday, January 4, 2020 at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Fairfields Volunteer Fire Department, P. O. Box 656, Burgess, VA 22432.
