Thomas E Nolte, 91, of Weems, VA passed away on October 10, 2020. Tom was born on September 11, 1929 to Thomas Claude and Mildred Osborn Nolte in Baltimore County, MD. Tom was predeceased by his parents, his brother William, and his wife of 60 years, Marilyn. He is survived by his son Bruce of Boring, MD; his daughter Beth (Christopher) Koep of Asbury, NJ; his son Robert (Cynthia) of Raleigh, NC; and his daughter Cheryl of Annandale, VA. He is also survived by his grandchildren Kathryn Dowd, Rebecca Hampton, Karl Koep, Thomas Richard Nolte, and Sarah Nolte along with 2 great grandchildren (Helayna and Norah) and his loyal canine companion and best furry friend Zeke.

Tom grew up on a farm in Boring, MD. After serving with the Army during the Korean War, Tom returned to Maryland where he raised his family. Tom spent his adult life in the trucking and engine business, retiring after nearly 4 decades with Cummins Engine Company/Onan Power. After retirement, Tom and Marilyn moved to Weems. He gave back to his community as an IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program preparer and coordinator, delivering Meals-on-Wheels for Bay Aging, and activities through St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church and Wesley Evangelical Presbyterian Church. For many years, Tom was an active member of US Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 33 and served as a Flotilla Commander. He particularly enjoyed teaching navigation and seamanship courses to members of the community. Tom and Marilyn were members of the Dogwood Chapter of the Family Motorcoach Association and traveled extensively throughout the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

Tom asked that his body be donated to the Virginia State Anatomical Program so he could continue making a contribution to the greater community even after death. A memorial service will be held at a future date. If so desired, contributions may be sent in his memory to one of the charities he supported: St Jude's Children's Research Hospital or American Lung Association.
