Obituary for William Michael Jett
On 02/05/2022 Michael Jett, 74, left his temporary body on earth to join his Lord and Nancy in heaven. He was born on December 7, 1947 in Ophelia VA and lived his first 19 years in Hacks Neck. He had been fighting COPD for some time but has now lost the battle. He was the son of Wilson and Doris Jett, both deceased, and preceded in death by his twin brother, Mitchell.
Michael attended Reedville Elementary School in Reedville and graduated in 1966 from Northumberland High School in Heathsville. He served his senior classmates as their president and continued to participate in the organizing of the class reunions. He loved his classmates and looked forward to the reunion every 5 years.
Mr Jett is survived by his son, Tim Jett (Sharon); daughter, Michele Barker (Dennis); 6 grandchildren; sister, Patsy Bayse; brother, Ronnie Jett (Linda).
Family will receive friends on Monday, February 14, 2022 from 6-8PM at Woody Funeral Home-Atlee Chapel, 9271 Shady Grove Rd, Mechanicsville, VA 23116. Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 2PM at Currie Funeral Home, 116 E. Church St, Kilmarnock, VA. Interment will follow at Roseland Cemetery, Reedville, VA. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Currie Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the charity of your choice.
