Obituary for William George "Bill" Lackert Sr.

William G. Lackert, Sr. 86, of Sandy Point, Heathsville, Virginia passed away April 7, 2021.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel S. Lackert; sons, Billy Lackert, Johnny Lackert (Michelle), George Lackert, Tommy Lackert and Bobby Lackert; sister, Grace Smith; brother, Charles Lackert; step daughters, Sherry Fisher (Jr) and Linda Martens (Walter); step son, Eddie Sampson; eight grandchildren, five step grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; eight step great grandchildren and one step great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Catherine Lackert; his first wife, Viola Lackert; son, Freddie Lackert; granddaughter, Marie Haydon, grandson, John Lackert and sisters, Caroline Conkle and Anne Smith.

He served as a military policeman in U. S. Army and then served as a City of Richmond police officer for 16 years and also worked undercover with the FBI. After his retirement, he became captain of private yachts.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 p. m. Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Wesley Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Weems, Va. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
