Obituary for William Henry "Bill" Smith Jr.
William H. "Bill" Smith, Jr, 80, of Kilmarnock, Virginia passed away February 17, 2020. He was a U. S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Grace Lackert Smith; sons ,William R. Smith (Linda) of Georgia, Stephen Smith (Terry) of Weems and Brian Smith (Annette) of Colorado; daughter, Deborah Smith of Weems; grandchildren, Tim Smith, Samantha Kuehler (Daniel) Matthew Smith (Virginia), Sarah Smith, Ryan Smith, Alex Smith and Devonte Taylor; great grandchildren, Mia Smith, Leo Taylor, R. J. Smith, Addison Lee Smith and Delaney Rae Smith; sisters, Jean Ellen Oquinn ( Mike) of Tappahannock, Elizabeth "Sissy" Davis of Pennsylvania and Barbara Smith of Callao; brother, Leroy Smith (Katherine) of Callao and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William H. Smith, Sr. and Margaret Connor Smith and brothers, Albert Smith and James L. Smith.
Bill started working at Tides Inn at the age of 13 and continued there for over 50 years. He will always be remembered for his smile and laughter and will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p. m. Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock, Va. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
