Sophie Rita Savalina, 87, of Morattico, Virginia passed away peacefully on April 12, 2014.

She is survived by three daughters, Gloria S. Conley and her husband, Allen, Penny Savalina and Mary Savalina; 11 grandchildren, Christopher Conley and his wife, Kelly, Ricky Lopez, V. J. Savalina, Gina Johnson and her husband, George, Danielle Savalina, Angela Beverly, Larry “Bubba” Smith and his wife Jeanette, Ashley Grover, Tony Baker and his wife, Kathy, Phillip Sudano and Victoria Sudano; 21 great grandchildren, one great- great granddaughter and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband ,Victor Joseph Savalina; her daughter, Rosalie S. Rogers, her son, Richard A. Savalina ,three brothers and nine sisters.

Sophie was widowed at the age of 38, having to raise her five children by herself. She was a very hard worker, a devout Christian and very devoted to her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 p. m. Wednesday, April 16 at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be 12 noon Thursday, April 17 at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, 4430 Belair Road, Baltimore, MD 21206.
