I spent time with Althea during events with extended family. I remember her as smiling, engaged, and interested, and sensed a wisdom beyond what the chit-chat allowed. As well, her comments seemed laced with pragmatism. She was that book on the shelf that I'd have loved to open if the circumstances allowed. We'll all be poorer for her loss.
