I just heard about Paddy leaving us yesterday. He and I met on the bus ride from the airport to our first CT job in Bremehaven, Germany. We were room mates there for a year. Together we were shipped to the USS Liberty. Paddy and I were close friends throughout. Afterwards when he was shipped to Hawaii, I was on temporary duty in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. I was a telephone operator, if you can believe that. I would call Paddy and hook him up with his mom so they could talk for an hour or so FREE OF CHARGE. I will miss Paddy.
