Joanne Flowers Sanders Pheris, 76, of White Stone, Va. passed away peacefully with her family by her side, March 15, 2015.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Everton Pheris, IV.

She is survived by three children, Kyle Paige Hall of White Stone, Va., Layne Tina Hall of White Stone, Va., and Brent Sanders Hall (Debbie) of Lancaster, Va.; a grandson, William Brent Hall; step-children, William E. Pheris V, James R. Pheris, Paige P. Pheris, and Robert F. Pheris; three step-grandchildren; a sister, Anita Sanders; a brother, Bruce Sanders; and nieces and nephews, Charlotte Sanders Alexander (James), William Ansel Sanders (Helen), and Anne Dyer Sanders.

Joanne was born in Kilmarnock, Va. and lived most of her life in the Northern Neck, graduated from St. Margaret’s School and the College of William and Mary with her Master’s Degree in education. She was a school teacher in Lancaster and King and Queen counties and was actively involved in the community, most recently with the Lancaster Lions Club.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 27, 2015 at Grace Episcopal Church, Kilmarnock, Va.
