Obituary for Dora Ficklin Yancey

Dora Ficklin Yancey, 103, of Kilmarnock died Wednesday, January 28, 2009. She was the widow of Sulton Williamson, Jack Earl and Clarence Yancey and was preceded in death by two daughters, Mildred Smith and Betty Oktay. Mrs. Yancey was a member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church.
Surviving are eight grandchildren, Brenda Lee Smith Stroud and husband, Charlie of Huntsville, Ala., Linda Marie Carter Hall of Silver Spring, Md., James Marshall Smith and wife, Nancy of Laurel, Md., Candy Gill of Lees Summit, Missouri, Samuel John Oktay and wife, Connie of Rancho Cucamonga, Cal., Susan Ann Oktay, Del Ray, Fla., Dennis Wayne Oktay of Bethesda, Md., Diane Lee Oktay of Silver Spring, Md.; four great grandchildren, Michael James Smith and wife, Timre of Florence, Oregon, Heather Jane Smith Alexander and husband, Mitch of Glen Burnie, Md., Rakefet Gill, Blue Springs, Missouri,and Michael Nicholas Oktay of Rancho Cucamonga, Cal.; great great grandson, James Emmanuel Smith of Florence, Oregon.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2009 at the Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock. Interment will be in Rehoboth United Methodist Church Cemetery, Kilmarnock. The family will receive friends, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 6 at the funeral home.
