David Schools, 78, of Tappahannock, Virginia passed away on March 26, 2015. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Christina Sarlis Schools; his children, Kamela Johnson and her husband, Brad of Montross, David Hayden and his wife, Nikki of Lancaster, Steven Hayden and his wife, Missy of Lancaster and Tommy Wilson of Tappahannock; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. David was preceded in death by his son, Michael Scott Schools.

David was the son of the late Mr. Lawrence and Mabel Schools of Tappahannock. He was the oldest of five children and was preceded in death by his brother, Carl Schools. He is survived by his brother, Ernest Schools and his wife, Teresa, Linwood Schools and his wife, Sandy and sister, Rita Schools.

David was a member of the Battery B 1st Howitzer Battalion, 8th Artillery, APO 25 and served in Vietnam. He a long-time member of the Callao Volunteer Rescue Squad and a lifetime member of the Tappahannock Volunteer Rescue Squad having participated in many emergency calls. David retired from Moore’s Building Supply (later Pro-Build) after more than 25 years of service.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p. m. Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock. Interment will follow at Corrottoman Baptist Church Cemetery, Ottoman. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
