One of our favorite memories of Dick Rice (papa) was when he met his youngest grandchild, Thomas Finley Rice (10.09.08).  He came to the hospital for a visit and spent hours just holding him.  As my husband and I debated who are son favored, papa finally said with great resolution, "Thomas looks like Thomas!".  It made us stop and think just what that statement meant - that papa loved and respected people for who they were with all of their God given strengths and weaknesses.  He loved deeply, he was a character who loved to prank and make others laugh.  Mostly, he was humble, strong and would do anything to help someone in need -- a friend, a foe or a complete stranger!  We love you Papa and we will fall back on the blanket of memories and inspiration you have provided us for so many wonderful years.   All of our love -  Sean, Patti & Thomas Rice
