It was in May of 2011 that I received a phone call from Maida and she was so excited about an inspirational idea that she firmly believed God had sent to her (He had).  It was an idea to help local families with "extra items" that the food bank was not able to provide, and so Extra Helping Hands was born.  I remember she wondered if there would be enough donations to get this program started and keep it going.  Most of our community knows the "rest of the story."  

She was a good friend, a good neighbor and I aspire to be more like her.
